Four Arrested in Asma Abduction Case, Woman Recovered Safely: Quetta Police

QUETTA: Police have arrested four suspects in the alleged abduction case of Asma, daughter of Amanullah, and recovered the woman safely, along with the vehicle and weapon allegedly used in the incident.

SSP Operations Quetta Zia-ul-Haq Mandokhail told the media on Tuesday that Kachi Baig police had arrested all four nominated suspects in the case and safely recovered the alleged abductee.

According to the police officer, Asma, a resident of Qambrani Road, had stated during a press conference that her previous engagement to her cousin Khuda Bakhsh ended in 2022.

She alleged that on August 13, 2026, Khuda Bakhsh, along with Muhammad Rafiq, son of Muhammad Yousaf, Javed, son of Abdul Samad, and Siraj, son of Ahmed Hussain, abducted her from her home, subjected her to violence and took Rs65,000 in cash.

SSP Mandokhail said an FIR (No. 161/2026) was registered at Kachi Baig Police Station on August 14 under Section 365-B of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of Shazia, the victim’s mother. Sub-Inspector Mehboob Ali was assigned to investigate the case.

During the investigation, police arrested all four nominated suspects — Khuda Bakhsh, Muhammad Rafiq, Javed and Siraj — and recovered the woman safely. Police also recovered the weapon and vehicle allegedly used in the incident.

The SSP said the recovered woman’s statement was recorded before a magistrate under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on August 17. She also underwent a medical examination at Civil Hospital Quetta, while the medical report is still awaited.

All four arrested suspects are currently on police remand, while further investigation into the case is underway.
