Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Condemns Granting “Justice of Peace” Powers to Commissioners, Calls for Immediate Withdrawal of Notification

**Islamabad (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) has strongly condemned the notification issued by the Balochistan government granting divisional commissioners, additional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and assistant commissioners powers under Sections 22-A and 22-B of the Criminal Procedure Code as “Justices of Peace.”
In a statement, PMAP Central Information Secretary Talimand Khan said the notification blatantly violates the Constitution and undermines the independence of the judiciary. He criticized the move as an attempt to establish a parallel judicial system that bypasses the courts, effectively weakening judicial authority and autonomy, similar to how the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments curtailed judicial powers.
The party demanded the immediate withdrawal of the unconstitutional and illegal notification to protect the judiciary’s remaining powers and independence. Talimand Khan warned that if the notification is not revoked, PMAP reserves the right to organize political and democratic protests with the support of the public and allied democratic forces, holding the Balochistan government fully responsible for any consequences.
