JUI-F Balochistan Chief Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay Defends Party’s Role in Politics, Challenges Allegations on Mines and Minerals Bill

Quetta:The Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan and Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay has emphasized that the political ideology of JUI-F is not limited to mere electoral seats but is based on a comprehensive and universal Islamic system. He stated that his party views electoral seats as a minor aspect of politics and has adopted parliamentary politics as a means to serve the public, protect Islamic values, and restore them in society.

In a statement, Maulana Abdul Wasay criticized those who attempt to sideline JUI-F from Parliament and dismiss the party’s position, calling them “out of touch with reality.” He made it clear that JUI-F could shift focus from parliamentary politics to ideological and intellectual struggle at any time. “We are the largest political force in Balochistan, and we are prepared to prove this claim on every forum,” he asserted.

The Senator pointed out that JUI-F was the only party to achieve significant success in the local body elections across the province. However, he condemned the alleged theft of their mandate in the general elections, calling it a bitter reality for the people of Balochistan. He also criticized efforts over the past three electoral terms to keep the party away from Parliament, while placing preferred individuals in key positions to ensure decisions aligned with their interests.

Addressing the controversy surrounding the Mines and Minerals Bill, Maulana Abdul Wasay challenged those blaming JUI-F for its role in the issue, stating, “We are ready to respond on every forum about our role in this matter.” He emphasized that those attempting to damage JUI-F’s reputation were actually fearful of the party’s political strength. “The responsibility for the allotment of tribal lands and related issues lies with the same elements who are now accusing us,” he added.

He further underlined that accountability is a core principle within JUI-F, and the party stands firm on its stance regarding the Mines and Minerals Bill.

Maulana Abdul Wasay also commented on the Reko Diq and Saindak projects, suggesting that these projects were part of a wider conspiracy to undermine JUI-F’s influence and to remove the party from governance. He stated, “Our struggle for Balochistan’s rights as part of the federal coalition government is a part of history, and the parties involved know how hard we fought for the rights of Balochistan.”

In addition, Maulana Abdul Wasay mentioned the delay in the PPL (Pakistan Petroleum Limited) agreement, urging all stakeholders involved to come forward and clarify their roles to the public.
