Bilawal Bhutto Calls for Joint Pakistan-India Forum to Tackle Terrorism, Emphasizes Diplomacy Over War

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman **Bilawal Bhutto Zardari** has called for the establishment of a **joint Pakistan-India forum** to address terrorism, stressing that only **dialogue, not war**, can bring lasting peace to South Asia.

Leading a **Pakistani delegation** to the **U.S. Congress**, Bilawal met with members of the **Pakistan Caucus**, including Democratic Congressman **Tom Suozzi**, Republican **Jack Bergman**, and **Congresswoman Ilhan Omar**, at an event held in **Cannon House Office Building** on Capitol Hill.

During the meeting, the delegation strongly criticized **India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty**, calling it a clear violation of international law. They emphasized the importance of dialogue between Pakistan and India, instead of escalating tensions through military means.

Bilawal also attended sessions at prominent U.S. think tank **Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)**, where he presented Pakistan’s stance on regional peace and cooperation. Additionally, he addressed a gathering hosted by **Americans for Tax Reform**, where he **thanked former President Donald Trump** for facilitating a ceasefire between the two nuclear neighbors.

In his remarks, Bilawal highlighted that **peace would open trade, reduce tensions, and save billions of dollars for American taxpayers**. He urged a shift from conflict to diplomacy, stating,

> “Let diplomacy achieve what war never can — for South Asia and the world.”

In an interview with **Chinese media**, Bilawal offered India a proposal to create a **mutual investigative platform** to probe terrorism incidents, including those in Pahalgam and other conflict zones. He pointed to a **long list of attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan**, which he alleged involved Indian elements.

Speaking to **Bloomberg** and other U.S. media outlets, Bilawal stated that both nations must have a platform where they can **present evidence and pursue accountability** in a structured and credible manner.

> “To eradicate terrorism, we must attack it at its roots,” he emphasized.

When asked who truly “won” past conflicts, Bilawal responded:

> “The answer lies in who kept lying to their people during and after the war — and who hid the truth.”

The Pakistani delegation’s visit, continuing through **June 6**, also includes meetings with **Pakistani-American community leaders** and appearances across U.S. media channels, aimed at reinforcing Pakistan’s message of peace, regional cooperation, and multilateral engagement.
