Islamabad: Islamabad International Airport has become Pakistan’s first 5G-enabled airport, marking a major step forward in the country’s digital transformation in aviation. The new service provides passengers with ultra-fast internet, enabling seamless live streaming, high-quality video calls, and lightning-fast browsing.
Officials confirmed that 5G signals have been fully activated around the airport’s exterior and surrounding areas, while technical work to enhance coverage inside terminals is in its final stages. The move reflects Pakistan’s commitment to modernizing its aviation infrastructure and bringing it up to international standards.
Sources added that after Islamabad, 5G services are expected to be extended soon to major airports in Karachi, Lahore, and other key cities, offering travelers cutting-edge digital facilities across the country.
