Crackdown Tightens During Operation Bunyad-e-Marsous: Notices Issued to Aleema Khan, Over 20 YouTubers

Islamabad: As part of the ongoing Operation Bunyad-e-Marsous, Pakistani authorities have intensified their crackdown on individuals allegedly spreading anti-state propaganda. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has summoned Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, for allegedly disseminating false narratives against state institutions.
According to NCCIA, Aleema Khan attempted to demoralize the public through her statements during the operation. Additionally, more than 20 pro-PTI YouTubers, including prominent figures Aftab Iqbal and Moeed Pirzada, have been issued legal notices for spreading anti-state content on social media.
The agency has shortlisted over 509 social media accounts suspected of running coordinated campaigns against state institutions and has initiated the process of sending legal notices.
Authorities have made it clear that any social media propaganda targeting national institutions will not be tolerated and that legal action will be taken against those involved.
