PTI Leaders Salman Akram Raja and Aaliya Hamza Hint at Intensifying Protest Politics

Lahore:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Salman Akram Raja and Aaliya Hamza, speaking to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, have indicated that the party plans to ramp up its protest activities in the coming days.
Salman Akram Raja made it clear, saying, “You will soon see us engaging in protest politics,” while Aaliya Hamza revealed that consultations for launching a protest movement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have already been completed.
Raja, addressing the legal cases against him, described them as acts of political vengeance, stating, “I have 20 cases against me, many of which I am unaware of. We will continue to fight against this system.” He further criticized the current regime, claiming that the entire system is built on lies, with journalists being expelled from offices and a need for judicial and media independence. “The system must wake up,” he added. “Streets exist for us to go out and protest. Khan Sahib must come out. This is the people’s decision.”
On the other hand, Aaliya Hamza strongly criticized the government, drawing a parallel with India, stating, “Along with a ceasefire with India, there should also be a ceasefire with the elected Prime Minister of 25 crore people.” She argued that the current situation does not signal any serious intent for negotiations, pointing out that political leaders are being prevented from meeting, while FIRs are being filed against them. “We are always on the streets,” she continued, “and we have seriously started working on the protest movement.”
Aaliya Hamza also targeted Maryam Nawaz, saying, “I tell Maryam Nawaz, let Nawaz Sharif speak once about Modi. She is forcefully trying to take credit.”
The comments from the PTI leaders signal that the party is gearing up for intensified political actions, possibly leading to large-scale protests across the country.
