Ignoring Balochistan Weakens Pakistan, Says Chaudhry Shujaat

Islamabad: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has emphasized that neglecting Balochistan weakens the country.

Chaudhry Shujaat made the remarks during a meeting with party leaders Dr. Rafiullah, Shakoor Mari, and Bashir Khan Achakzai, where they discussed upcoming local government elections. Provincial Minister Chaudhry Shafaq and PML-Q Central Information Secretary Mustafa Malik were also present.

He directed the party to actively participate in Quetta’s local elections, urging party workers to fully engage in the electoral process and campaigns.

Highlighting Balochistan’s mineral wealth, Chaudhry Shujaat said these resources could propel the province ahead of other regions, attracting global attention. He noted that sustainable peace in Balochistan would further enhance the importance of these resources, making the province’s development a national priority.

Chaudhry Shujaat stressed that the rights of the Baloch people and development projects must not be compromised. He called for immediate focus on education, health, and infrastructure, urging the federal and provincial governments to collaboratively address Balochistan’s challenges.

He added that a strong Balochistan ensures a strong Pakistan, and under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the province should receive greater representation, with new employment opportunities created for Baloch youth.
