Balochistan Teachers End Exam Boycott After CM’s Assurance, Joint Press Conference Held

QUETTA – Teachers in Balochistan have called off their boycott of examinations following a firm assurance from Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti regarding education sector reforms. The announcement was made during a joint press conference on Friday at the MPA Hostel by provincial ministers Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, and the President of the Balochistan Professors and Lecturers Association (BPLA), Abdul Quddus Kakar.
The ministers stated that the provincial government is committed to continuing educational reforms for the betterment of the nation’s future. They lauded the teachers’ decision to end the protest in the broader interest of students and the academic process.
Abdul Quddus Kakar, representing the teachers’ association, confirmed that their concerns were addressed by a committee formed by the Chief Minister. He added that the committee has promised to implement necessary reforms within a six-month timeframe.
Kakar also revealed that a productive meeting was held with the Chief Minister a day earlier, during which he reaffirmed his special focus on the education sector. Reforms are also underway at the Balochistan Board Office to streamline academic processes.
“Based on the Chief Minister’s commitment and the formation of the committee, we are officially ending our protest and resuming participation in examinations,” said Kakar. He expressed hope that the reforms promised over the next six months would yield positive outcomes.
