Propaganda Falls Flat: U.S. Secretary of State Rebukes Indian Counterpart, Urges Cooperation with Pakistan for Regional Peace

Washington: In the wake of the Pahalgam attack, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held a telephonic conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. However, India’s attempt to pin the blame on Pakistan was firmly rejected by the American diplomat.
According to international news agencies, Secretary Rubio emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in South Asia under all circumstances. He urged his Indian counterpart to take immediate steps toward de-escalation and work jointly with Pakistan to ensure regional stability.
Sources revealed that Rubio did not entertain Jaishankar’s efforts to hold Pakistan responsible for the attack, and instead advised India to focus on reducing tensions through cooperation.
The strong and clear message from Washington has reportedly left the Modi government frustrated, with Jaishankar receiving little support for India’s narrative.
This is not the first time the U.S. has taken a balanced stance. In a recent press briefing, the U.S. State Department spokesperson also reaffirmed America’s commitment to working with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
