Dr. Aafia Siddiqui Case Transferred to Another Bench of Islamabad High Court

ISLAMABAD: The case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui has been transferred to another bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
According to Express News, the IHC has issued a new duty roster following the summer vacation. Under the notification, nine judges will serve on single-member benches, while five division benches will also be available from next week.
As per the new roster, Justice Babar Sattar and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan will not be part of single benches, and their pending single-judge cases have been reassigned to other judges. However, both judges will remain on the division bench to hear tax-related cases.
Among the important cases transferred is that of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, which has now been moved from Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan’s court to Justice Inaam Amin Minhas.
It is noteworthy that Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan had recently issued contempt of court notices to the Prime Minister and the federal cabinet, directing them to submit their responses by September 1.
From next week, the IHC will operate with nine single-member benches and five division benches to hear various cases.
