PSL 10: Heavy Fines Imposed on Mohammad Rizwan and Colin Munro for On-Field Altercation

Lahore: In the 13th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10, Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan and Islamabad United’s Colin Munro have been fined 30% of their match fees for breaching the PCB Code of Conduct during an on-field confrontation.
The incident occurred during the second innings of the match played at the Multan Cricket Stadium. After Multan Sultans posted a total of 168/5 in their 20 overs, Islamabad United chased down the target with ease, thanks to aggressive batting from Andre Gous and Colin Munro, reaching the target with 17 balls to spare.
Tensions rose in the 10th over of the chase when Munro, after hitting Iftikhar Ahmed for a boundary, missed the next two deliveries and appeared to question the legality of Iftikhar’s bowling action. Iftikhar responded by approaching the umpires without directly engaging with Munro.
However, Multan captain Mohammad Rizwan intervened and exchanged heated words with Munro, who responded in kind. The situation became tense but was quickly brought under control by the on-field umpires.
Following a review, the PSL management found both players guilty of violating the code of conduct, leading the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to impose a 30% fine on each of their match fees.
Both players have accepted the sanctions and assured officials of their commitment to discipline and the spirit of the game. The PSL administration also issued a reminder to all players emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, professionalism, and adherence to league rules in a globally recognized tournament.
