PSL Code of Conduct Breach: Colin Munro and Mohammad Rizwan Fined 30% of Match Fee

Islamabad United opener **Colin Munro** and Multan Sultans captain **Mohammad Rizwan** have both been fined **30% of their match fees** for committing a **Level 2 violation** of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Code of Conduct.
The incident occurred during the second innings of the match between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United on Wednesday. Colin Munro made a gesture implying that Multan’s **Iftikhar Ahmed** was bowling with an illegal action (chucking), which led to a tense moment on the field.
Visibly angered by the accusation, Iftikhar Ahmed walked over to square-leg umpire **Chris Brown** to lodge a complaint. The situation escalated further when a verbal exchange took place between Munro and Rizwan, adding to the on-field drama.
Interestingly, the **Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)** confirmed that Munro’s fine did not specifically cite the accusation against Iftikhar Ahmed, and no match officials reported any concerns about Iftikhar’s bowling action.
While this isn’t the first time a Pakistani bowler has been accused of an illegal action by an opposing batter, such direct gestures remain rare and controversial. The incident has reignited discussions around sportsmanship and the responsibility of players to uphold the spirit of the game.
The fines were issued in accordance with PSL’s disciplinary framework, with both players accepting the sanctions handed down by the match referee, thereby avoiding formal hearings.
