Drug Trafficking Network Using Courier Service Busted in Peshawar
ANF arrests four, including courier office employee facilitating the smuggling operation

Islamabad: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has uncovered a drug trafficking network operating through a courier service in Peshawar. According to the ANF spokesperson, a suspect named Zahid ur Rehman was arrested in Nowshera after he booked 11 drug-laden parcels destined for various cities. These parcels were intercepted on March 25, 26, and April 7.
The seized packages contained 5.7 kilograms of hashish, 200 grams of crystal meth (ice), 120 ecstasy tablets, 150 grams of opium, counterfeit currency, and a 30-bore pistol — all found in Zahid ur Rehman’s possession.
Based on intelligence provided by the arrested suspect and further investigation, ANF received a tip-off regarding the delivery of drugs to Sialkot on April 11. As a result, an operation near Haji Camp in Peshawar led to the arrest of three individuals caught red-handed. Additionally, an employee of the courier office involved in facilitating the smuggling was also apprehended.
From the arrested suspects, authorities recovered 2 kilograms of hashish. During interrogation, it was revealed that the suspects were part of an inter-provincial drug trafficking ring, sourcing drugs from Bara and other areas and transporting them via courier services.
The ANF has called on courier companies to increase scrutiny of suspicious parcels and extend full cooperation in curbing drug smuggling. Investigations are ongoing to track down other members of the online drug trafficking network. Cases have been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act against the arrested suspects, and further inquiries are underway.
