Khawaja Saad Rafique Denies Allegations Over One Constitution Avenue Investment, Warns of Legal Action

Lahore: Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has strongly rejected social media claims linking him to ownership or investment in Islamabad’s “One Constitution Avenue” project.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Saad Rafique termed the ongoing campaign as baseless propaganda and clarified that neither he nor his family has any investment or ownership in the project.
He categorically stated that reports alleging his involvement in apartments or shares in the high-profile development are completely false. He also said that similar claims had already been denied by him in response to a tweet by journalist Matiullah Jan on April 9, 2026.
The former minister further divided the individuals behind the alleged propaganda campaign into four groups. He said some of them are PTI supporters who label everyone except themselves as corrupt, while others are PTI opponents who are unhappy that he is not part of any political revenge campaign against PTI.
He also mentioned that critics of foreign policy are part of the campaign, particularly those dissatisfied with his clear anti-US stance regarding American actions against Iran. Additionally, he accused some individuals of spreading baseless allegations simply to gain attention.

Reiterating his position, Saad Rafique stated that he has no apartment or financial stake in One Constitution Avenue and has never made any investment in the project. He warned that if false propaganda continues, he reserves the right to pursue legal action against those involved.
He also suggested three points to the government regarding the resolution of issues related to the project, including compensation for losses due to non-payment of plot prices, protection of buyers who made legitimate payments, and action against facilitators and regulators who failed to stop construction and sales despite payment irregularities.
