PTI’s Salman Akram Raja Addresses Internal Disputes, Expects Resolution Soon

Lahore:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)** Secretary General **Salman Akram Raja** has addressed the ongoing internal differences within the party, stating that the leadership is focused on **principled discussions** rather than engaging in public disputes. He expressed confidence that these issues will be resolved soon.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of his appearance at an **Anti-Terrorism Court** in **Lahore**, Raja emphasized that PTI remains committed to **constitutional supremacy** and **free and fair elections**. “We want to restore basic rights in the country, and if anyone thinks we will take an easy way out, they are mistaken,” he said.
Regarding comments made by party leader **Azam Swati**, Raja clarified that he was unaware of any negotiations or deals with the **establishment**. “Azam Swati is speaking in his personal capacity. There has been no such move by the party,” he stated. He added that only after meeting **Imran Khan** would it become clear whether any such negotiations had taken place.
Raja also alleged that obstacles were being placed to **prevent meetings between Imran Khan** and the leadership, potentially creating ambiguity in the party’s direction. “I had submitted the names of six lawyers for a meeting with Imran Khan, but five were removed, and those who met him were not even on the list,” he said, reflecting the growing friction within the party.
In response, **Barrister Ali Zafar** commented that meeting **Imran Khan** is the **right of every party member**, and that **Salman Akram Raja** had unnecessarily escalated the situation.
Furthermore, **Barrister Gohar Ali Khan**, another PTI leader, reacted sharply, asserting that only after **Imran Khan**, his voice would be the final authority. “I will not provide clarification to anyone, but the entire party will give clarification to me,” he stated. He further expressed his determination to never **betray Imran Khan’s trust**.
It is evident that PTI’s internal disagreements have reached a tipping point, with **party factions** now openly challenging each other. However, Salman Akram Raja remains hopeful that ongoing discussions will resolve these tensions and lead to a clearer direction for the party in the near future.
