VIP Lift Malfunctions at National Assembly; Fazlur Rehman, Farooq Sattar Among Those Trapped

**Islamabad:** A VIP elevator at the **National Assembly of Pakistan** malfunctioned on Monday, temporarily trapping several lawmakers inside, including **Fazlur Rehman**, **Farooq Sattar**, and Sattar’s wife.

According to reports, the lift stopped unexpectedly while multiple members of parliament were inside. As the elevator remained stuck for several minutes, some lawmakers reportedly began to feel unwell due to the confined space.

Staff members of Fazlur Rehman promptly informed the Assembly Secretariat about the situation. After several minutes of disruption, technical staff managed to restore the lift and safely evacuate all those trapped. No serious injuries were reported.

During the incident, an interesting exchange took place between MNA **Seema Jilani** and Fazlur Rehman. Seema Jilani reportedly said, “Maulana Sahib, please pray; I don’t feel like going underground so soon.” In response, Fazlur Rehman replied, “Pray to Allah; Allah will show mercy.”

All the lawmakers were later confirmed to be safe, and normal operations resumed at the assembly building.
