Maryam Nawaz Praises Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s Leadership, Says He’s Ideal for Defence Chief
ISLAMABAD – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has lauded Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for demonstrating wartime leadership against India, saying there could be no better choice than him for the position of Chief of Defence.

In a video message shared on the official social media page of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz stated, “Who could be a better appointment for Chief of Defence than Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir? He has shown exemplary wartime leadership against India.”

In another post, without naming anyone, she reflected on past injustices, saying, “I solemnly declare that neither I nor Nawaz Sharif sought revenge; they sought revenge against us. Nature has now taken its course. Why didn’t this conscience awaken earlier? If it had, Nawaz Sharif, I, and others would not have suffered wrongful punishments for six years. I solemnly state that neither I nor Nawaz Sharif have taken revenge on anyone.”
Her remarks emphasize both her support for Field Marshal Munir’s leadership credentials and her stance on past political grievances.
