EU Offers Zero-Tariff Deal to U.S., Trump Demands $300 Billion in Energy Purchases

According to foreign news agencies, the European Commissioner for Trade revealed that, weeks before the ongoing tariff war, the European Union had offered the U.S. a zero-tariff deal on cars and industrial goods. However, U.S. President Donald Trump has shown little interest in accepting this proposal.
The commissioner stated that Trump had insisted that if the European Union wants tariff relief, it would have to purchase $300 billion worth of energy products from the U.S.
The European Commission for Trade also made it clear that if necessary, the European Union would not hesitate to impose retaliatory tariffs on the U.S. in response to Trump’s measures.
