BNP to Protest Against False Cases Filed Against 1,800 People in Wadh; Road Blockades Planned on March 6

Quetta:In a recent statement, the Balochistan National Party (BNP) condemned the false cases filed against over 1,800 political, tribal, and business figures in Wadh, accusing the local authorities of harassing traders, extortion, and involvement in terrorism. The party announced that on March 6, it will stage protests by blocking national highways to highlight the government’s failure to honor agreements and to demand action against the death squads responsible for terrorizing the region.
The BNP criticized the provincial administration and the ruling authorities for not following through on a written agreement, signed by Form 47 rulers and the administration, which promised action against extortionists and terrorists. Instead, over 1,800 Baloch individuals have been wrongfully implicated. The party believes this action proves that the current ruling powers, aligned with the establishment, are worsening Balochistan’s situation instead of improving it.
According to the statement, the party leader is currently sitting at the Wadh police station in solidarity with the 1,800 affected families, demonstrating his commitment to standing with the people and ensuring they are not left at the mercy of death squads. The BNP emphasized that the struggle is for the collective national interests of Balochistan, and that the government’s violation of agreements only aims to intimidate the public and target them for retaliatory actions.
The party announced further protests with sit-ins at police stations on March 8 and urged citizens and transporters to support the cause. Transporters have been requested to refrain from traveling on national highways between 9 AM and 5 PM on March 6, as a show of solidarity. The BNP called on Balochistan’s transporters and the public to demonstrate their patriotism and stand against the injustice faced by the 1,800 innocent people, some of whom have already passed away.
The statement concluded by reiterating that the BNP remains committed to fighting for the rights of every segment of Baloch society, regardless of ethnicity or background, and will continue to oppose actions that undermine the dignity and rights of the Baloch people.
