Regular Sexual Activity May Help Prevent Heart Disease, New Research Reveals

Islamabad:While regular exercise is known to reduce cholesterol levels and decrease the risk of heart attacks, a new study has revealed that regular sexual activity can also play a significant role in protecting individuals from heart disease, particularly heart attacks.
According to the World Health Organization, sexual activity not only helps prevent heart disease but also protects against certain types of cancer, mental stress, and other health issues, contributing significantly to emotional well-being.
The research, submitted to the National Library of Medicine, highlights the link between low sexual activity, high blood pressure, and mortality rates. The study used data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey to examine the relationship between sexual activity and heart disease among American adults aged 20 to 59.
The analysis of the database revealed that the connection between low sexual activity and heart disease is more prominent among individuals who are older or suffering from conditions like diabetes, obesity, and mental stress. In contrast, for those who do not suffer from these conditions, sexual activity plays an important role in reducing health risks.
The research also indicates that a decrease in testosterone levels can contribute to reduced sexual activity. Furthermore, individuals using medications such as diuretics and beta-blockers may experience more sexual health issues, which could potentially lead to heart disease.
Experts conducting the study have advised individuals with either high or low sexual activity to consult a doctor, as irregular sexual activity can lead to erectile dysfunction, which is often an early sign of heart disease.
