ECNEC Reviews Comprehensive Agenda of Development Projects Under Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC), chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, reviewed a comprehensive agenda covering various development projects across the country.

The meeting examined the construction project of the Khawazakhela-Besham Expressway as well as projects aimed at improving electricity distribution systems in the service areas of LESCO, HESCO and PESCO.

The ECNEC agenda also included the Tarbela 5th Extension Hydropower Project. The forum further reviewed proposals for the Southern Punjab Poverty Reduction Project and the Fulbright Scholarship Support Programme for approval.

Various projects related to water resources, connectivity and infrastructure were also reviewed, along with revised PC-I documents for several development schemes.

The meeting reviewed progress on ongoing development projects and their implementation status. Ishaq Dar directed the relevant authorities to ensure timely execution of development schemes and effective utilisation of allocated resources.

He instructed all concerned institutions to take coordinated and timely measures to ensure smooth implementation of development projects.

The meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing its agenda of economic development and improved connectivity across the country.

Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Federal Minister for Planning and other senior officials attended the ECNEC meeting.
