Bangladesh Signals Interest in Joining Pakistan-Türkiye-Saudi Defense Framework

DHAKA:Bangladesh has indicated that it is open to joining an economic or defense framework involving Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
According to the Bangladesh news agency, Bangladesh’s Adviser for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir said in an interview that Dhaka has a positive view of the possibility of joining an economic or defense framework involving Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye.
Kabir said Bangladesh would consider its national interests, changes in the global economy and evolving international trade dynamics before making any decision.
He added that Bangladesh is strengthening practical bilateral ties with Pakistan as part of its normal diplomatic engagement and is working to expand trade and people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
Bangladeshi media reported that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to visit Saudi Arabia soon following an invitation from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
