ECC Approves Export of 108,000 Metric Tons of Sugar

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved the export of 108,000 metric tons of sugar from stocks held by the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP).

The decision was taken during an ECC meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the approved quantity of 108,000 metric tons of sugar will be exported from the stock currently held by the Trading Corporation.

The ECC also approved the issuance of international tenders for the export of the sugar. The tendering process will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).

The Ministry of Finance said the sugar stock available with the Trading Corporation was the remaining quantity from the 300,000 metric tons of sugar imported last year.
