President Zardari Meets Balochistan CM, Stresses Federal-Provincial Coordination for Peace and Development

ISLAMABAD:President Asif Ali Zardari met Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the President House, where the provincial chief executive briefed him on the overall situation in Balochistan and ongoing development projects.

During the meeting, the president emphasized the need for effective coordination between the federal and provincial governments to promote peace, development and public welfare in Balochistan.

President Zardari said Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province by area, deserved special attention and adequate resources to accelerate its development.

He said efforts by foreign-backed terrorists to obstruct the province’s development would be defeated at all costs.

The president expressed confidence that the day was not far when terrorism would be completely eliminated from Balochistan.

The meeting was also attended by Pakistan Peoples Party Women’s Wing Central President and Sindh Assembly member Faryal Talpur, as well as former Balochistan minister Ali Hassan Zehri.
