Investigation into PTI Leader Abdullah Tahir’s Murder Handed Over to CCD

Lahore: A major development has emerged in the murder case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Abdullah Tahir, with the investigation officially transferred to the Crime Control Department (CCD).

According to media reports citing police sources, the case was shifted to the CCD Model Town unit after investigators identified the alleged shooters involved in the killing. DSP CCD Hasnain Haider and his team will now conduct the investigation. Previously, the case was being handled by the Investigation Wing of Ghalib Market Police Station.

Police sources said the alleged main shooter, Arslan Jatt, transported the shooters from Gujranwala to Lahore in a car, where the murder was allegedly carried out according to a pre-planned strategy.

Authorities further stated that the nominated suspect, Kogi Butt, accused of orchestrating the killing, has already fled abroad. Law enforcement agencies have intensified efforts to secure his arrest.

According to reports, police have decided to seek an Interpol Red Notice for Kogi Butt to facilitate his arrest and extradition. Meanwhile, the investigative team is re-examining all aspects of the case and conducting raids at various locations to apprehend the suspects and collect additional evidence.

Police have also taken into custody the car and motorcycle allegedly used in the crime. Investigators believe Arslan Jatt rented a vehicle in Gujranwala with the help of an accomplice and transported two shooters to Lahore. Another facilitator reportedly arrived separately on a motorcycle, which was later provided to the shooters in the Gulberg area and allegedly used during the attack.

According to investigators, after the incident, Arslan Jatt and the two shooters fled the scene together in the rented vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing.
