IMF Has Declared Them a ‘Government of Thieves’, Says Mehmood Khan Achakzai on Black Day

**Islamabad:** Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party Chairman and head of the Tehreek Tahaffuz Aain Pakistan, **Mehmood Khan Achakzai**, strongly criticized the government while speaking to the media outside Shah Faisal Mosque on **21 November, observed as Black Day**. He said that those who “attacked the Constitution” have now even been labeled as a **“government of thieves”** by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Achakzai referred to the IMF report, claiming that the government has committed **nearly Rs 5,000 billion worth of corruption in just two years**. He alleged that those who “stole the public mandate” have crippled Parliament by taking away minority seats through manipulated judicial decisions, while the **26th and 27th constitutional amendments** were used to strip the judiciary of its powers.
In an impassioned tone, Achakzai stated that they do not wish to fight anyone, “**but we will not allow oppressors, thieves, and usurpers to remain in Pakistan**,” accusing them of trampling the Constitution — the social contract between nations. He urged the public to unite with collective wisdom to **protect the Constitution and build a new Pakistan**.
Speaking about Imran Khan, he said that those who stand for the people are either shot or thrown into prisons. He criticized the authorities for not even allowing Khan’s family to meet him, saying, “Imran Khan’s crime is not so big that even his family is denied visits.”
Achakzai warned the rulers that a time will come when people will **storm prison walls with ladders to meet and free Imran Khan**. He asserted that a revolution is inevitable in Pakistan — one that will bring **bread for the poor, freedom of religion, and justice for all**.
