Educational Institutions to Reopen in Islamabad as Sindh Clarifies School Schedule

Islamabad: Government schools and colleges in the federal capital will reopen on Monday, August 3, following the conclusion of the summer vacation, while the Sindh government has also clarified the weekly schedule for schools in the province.

According to officials, summer holidays in federal educational institutions were observed from May 25 to July 31. With the break now over, all arrangements have been finalized for the resumption of academic activities, and students and teachers are expected to return to classrooms as usual on Monday.


Meanwhile, educational activities have also resumed in Sindh after the summer vacation. However, the provincial government has clarified its policy regarding the weekly schedule for public and private schools.

The Sindh Education Department had earlier issued a notification directing both public and private schools to observe a six-day teaching week from August 1, ending the Saturday holiday.

Later, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah clarified that the six-day teaching schedule will apply only to government schools, while private educational institutions will remain free to determine their own weekly schedules in accordance with their administrative and academic requirements.
