Alleged Mastermind of Hangu Check Post Attack Killed in Security Operation

Peshawar:Law enforcement agencies have killed an alleged mastermind behind the deadly attack on the Khazina Banda police check post during an operation in Hangu, police officials said.

According to the police, the movement of **15 to 18 suspected militants** was detected near **Chapri Naryab**, prompting a security operation in the area. During the operation, an alleged high-value militant was killed.

Police officials claimed the deceased militant was the alleged mastermind of the attack on the **Khazina Banda police check post**.

The attack took place on **July 29**, when militants stormed the check post in Hangu. The assault resulted in the deaths of **10 police personnel, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)**, while **28 others were injured**.

Authorities said further investigations are underway to identify other individuals involved in the attack and assess the outcome of the operation.
