10 Killed, 16 Injured in Monsoon-Related Incidents Across Balochistan This Year: PDMA
Quetta: At least 10 people have lost their lives and 16 others have been injured in various monsoon-related incidents across Balochistan between June 1 and July 31, according to a report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The report stated that the fatalities resulted from four incidents of roof and wall collapses, two lightning strikes, and one flash flood during the ongoing monsoon season.
According to the PDMA, the victims included four people from Zhob, three from Khuzdar, two from Kohlu, and one from Dukki. Among those killed were five children, three men, and two women.
The report further said that 16 people were injured, including 13 children, two women, and one man, in weather-related incidents across the province.
In addition to the human casualties, the PDMA reported that 228 houses were damaged, including 210 partially damaged and 18 completely or severely damaged homes.
The report also noted that since June 1, the monsoon rains have resulted in the death of 126 livestock, damaged 526 acres of agricultural land, and affected 11 irrigation canals across Balochistan.
The PDMA has urged residents to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions and to follow official safety advisories to reduce the risk of further casualties and damage.
