Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Condemns Alleged Mortar Attack on Civilian Areas in Hanna Urak
Quetta: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) has strongly condemned the alleged mortar shelling on civilian areas in Shah Noor Kuch, Killi Malik Sher, and Killi Ragha of Hanna Urak, calling on the government to take immediate and effective action against those responsible.
In a statement issued by the party’s provincial secretariat, PkNAP said that targeting unarmed civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, and creating fear in residential neighborhoods is unacceptable. The party stated that such incidents not only threaten peace and security but also deepen public anxiety and insecurity.
The statement expressed concern that similar incidents have continued to occur in the affected areas, alleging that the relevant authorities and law enforcement agencies have failed to adequately protect the lives and property of local residents. It said the state’s foremost responsibility is to ensure public safety, maintain law and order, and take effective action against terrorist elements.
The party further said that the deteriorating security situation, particularly in Pashtun-majority areas of the province, and the increase in militant violence have made daily life increasingly difficult for residents, leaving many worried about the safety of their families and property.
PkNAP urged the federal and provincial governments, the district administration, and the relevant security agencies to conduct an immediate, impartial, and transparent investigation into the alleged attacks. It also called for those responsible, as well as their alleged facilitators, to be brought to justice and for permanent security measures to be implemented in the affected areas to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The party expressed solidarity with the affected families and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its political and democratic struggle for peace, the rule of law, the protection of human rights, and civil liberties.
