Balochistan Cabinet Approves Key Reforms, Vows Strong Measures for Security and Development
QUETTA: The Balochistan cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Balochistan, approved several major decisions during its meeting, where a 26-point agenda was taken up for consideration. Provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Mir Ziaullah Langove, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani and Adviser for Sports Meena Majeed briefed the media following the session.
Provincial Minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi said the cabinet began its proceedings by offering prayers for those martyred in recent terrorist incidents in Balochistan and paid tribute to their sacrifices. He announced the approval of scholarships through the Workers Welfare Board and said that Tameer-e-Nau School and College has been granted the status of a university.
He further stated that the cabinet has resolved the administrative ambiguity relating to A and B areas in Balochistan and approved a provincial planning manual. Regarding the Harnai-Sibi Road project, he said the federal government will provide Rs15 billion, while the remaining cost will be borne by the provincial government.
Buledi said important changes have been made to the Balochistan Cadet College Board. There are currently 11 cadet colleges operating in the province. The cabinet also approved Child Protection Rules and sanctioned the creation of new tehsils across Balochistan.
He emphasized that extraordinary measures would be required to restore complete normalcy in the province and reiterated the government’s commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and improving the overall law and order situation.
Commenting on the political landscape, Buledi said the National Party has announced that it will not join the government, while Dr. Malik Baloch has not expressed any desire to become chief minister.
Provincial Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove stated that the families of the Ziarat martyrs did not demand the restoration of the Levies Force. He also revealed that surveillance cameras installed under the Safe City Project had been damaged during strikes and protest activities.
The provincial government reiterated its commitment to securing all national highways in Balochistan and strengthening security measures across the province. Officials maintained that coordinated efforts are underway to improve peace and stability while advancing educational and developmental reforms.
