Judge Humayun Dilawar Case: Accused Umar Siddique Sent to Jail on Judicial Remand

Islamabad: In the ongoing case regarding the social media campaign against Judge Humayun Dilawar, District and Sessions Court Islamabad has sent the accused, Umar Siddique, Assistant Director of the Anti-Corruption Circle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on judicial remand to jail.
The case hearing took place in the District and Sessions Court, where Umar Siddique, who had completed his four-day physical remand, was presented. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had requested that he be sent on judicial remand. During the hearing, Siddique requested the suspension of his remand.
Security personnel removed all Anti-Corruption KPK officials from the court premises during the proceedings. Defense lawyer Malik Akhtar Awan argued that his team had brought the relevant records, but they were forcibly removed by the DSP security. He questioned whether justice could be served under such circumstances, adding that no decision had been made on the remand suspension request for the past two days.
After hearing the arguments, Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah approved the request and sent the accused to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
