Three Abducted Excise Officials Recovered Safely Near Yakmach in Balochistan

CHAGAI: Three Excise Department officials who were abducted by unidentified armed men from the Dalbandin-Taftan Highway have been recovered safely near Yakmach, police said.

According to police sources, the officials were handed over to the relevant authorities after undergoing an initial medical examination and the completion of necessary legal formalities. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The officials were kidnapped earlier when unidentified armed attackers allegedly set up a road blockade near Dhadhar on the Dalbandin-Taftan Highway and attacked a temporary Excise Department checkpoint.

According to authorities, the assailants took the three officials along with two government vehicles and official weapons before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, police and other law enforcement agencies launched a search operation after cordoning off the area.

The three officials were later recovered unharmed near Yakmach.

Police said investigations are continuing to identify the attackers, determine their escape routes, and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Efforts are also underway to recover the stolen government vehicles and official weapons.
