Javed Chaudhry Claims IRGC Policies Are Weakening the Middle East and Isolating Iran
LAHORE: Senior journalist and political analyst Javed Chaudhry has alleged that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), commonly known as the Pasdaran-e-Inqilab, is pursuing policies that are weakening the Middle East and contributing to Iran’s growing diplomatic isolation.
Speaking during a podcast, Chaudhry said that there is currently no country effectively mediating between the United States and Iran, adding that Pakistan’s relations with Iran have also become strained in recent months.
He claimed that tensions began after Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi made multiple visits to Iran to deliver a diplomatic message aimed at encouraging Tehran to resolve its differences with the United States through dialogue. According to Chaudhry, Iranian authorities interpreted Pakistan’s repeated diplomatic outreach as a sign of Islamabad’s strong interest in the matter.
Chaudhry further alleged that a letter delivered to Mojtaba Khamenei, which reportedly contained advice urging Iran to take advantage of an opportunity for negotiations with the United States, was not well received by Iranian officials. He said Pakistan’s message emphasized that continued rigidity in negotiations could have adverse consequences for Iran.

The analyst claimed that Iran subsequently distanced itself from Pakistan’s mediation efforts and instead encouraged diplomatic roles for countries such as Qatar and Oman. He argued that Tehran was concerned that Pakistan’s diplomatic profile was gaining prominence through its involvement in regional affairs.
Javed Chaudhry also alleged that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps exercises significant influence over Iran’s political leadership and is attempting to consolidate its control over key state institutions. He described Iran’s civilian political leadership as being heavily influenced by the IRGC.
According to Chaudhry, the policies pursued by the IRGC are weakening both Iran and the wider Middle East. He further claimed that the international community, including European countries and NATO members, is increasingly aligning itself with the United States due to perceptions that Iran is unwilling to resolve ongoing disputes diplomatically.
