12 Pakistani Youth Allegedly Kidnapped in Iran by Human Smugglers Luring Them with Europe Jobs

Islamabad: Twelve Pakistani youths have allegedly been kidnapped in Iran by human smugglers after being lured with promises of being transported illegally to Europe, authorities said.

According to officials, the smugglers allegedly subjected the victims to torture and sent videos of the abuse to their families while demanding ransom for their release.

An FIA Lahore Zone spokesperson said the victims had paid the smugglers to be taken to Italy via Iran.

The spokesperson confirmed that a criminal case has been registered and raids are underway to arrest those involved in the human trafficking network. Special investigation teams have also been formed to secure the safe recovery of the kidnapped youths.

Authorities added that Pakistani officials are coordinating with relevant agencies abroad to trace the victims and facilitate their rescue.
