Islamabad: Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sardar Syedal Khan Nasser emphasized the critical role of Ishaq Dar, as Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, in lifting Pakistan out of its international diplomatic isolation and economic crisis.
In an exclusive interview with Roznama Jang, he noted that during Imran Khan’s government, Pakistan faced not only economic turmoil but also found itself increasingly isolated on the global stage. However, he stated that under the leadership of Shahbaz Sharif and the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), the country has made significant progress both economically and diplomatically.
Nasser commended Ishaq Dar for his relentless efforts to improve Pakistan’s diplomatic relations, highlighting that recent participation of key global leaders in the Shanghai Conference held in Pakistan indicates the nation is regaining its footing in international affairs.
He mentioned that Ishaq Dar played an essential role in his election as a senator and his subsequent appointment as Deputy Chairman of the Senate, emphasizing the trust placed in him by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
According to Nasser, Pakistan is on a path of recovery from both economic and political crises, with inflation decreasing to single digits, a decline in interest rates, and an improvement in the value of the rupee. He expressed confidence that Pakistan would soon regain its lost status in the international community, leading those disillusioned with the country’s situation to reconsider their decisions to leave.
