Sheikh Rashid Ahmad decides to resume legal practice after 50 years

Rawalpindi: Senior politician and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has announced his decision to resume his legal practice after a gap of 50 years.

On Tuesday, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad submitted an application for the restoration of his legal license. Before filing the request, he spoke to the media and described it as an “unusual decision” after decades.

He said he would seek restoration of his license through Advocate Sardar Razaq and, if approved, would sit at his chamber.

The Awami Muslim League leader added that he made the decision because “the days do not pass easily,” saying it had become difficult for him to spend time without engagement.

He further clarified that he would not take part in bar politics and would only work from a legal chamber after his license is restored.
