HDP Accuses Government of Failing to Maintain Law and Order in Balochistan

QUETTA: The central council of the Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) has accused the government of failing to maintain law and order in Balochistan, alleging that the province has effectively been handed over to mafias and contractors.
The meeting, chaired by Abdul Khaliq Hazara at the party’s central office in Quetta, reviewed the overall security situation in the province, regional political and military developments, and the party’s organizational affairs.
Expressing concern over the deteriorating security situation, the council referred to the incidents in Hanna Urak and Ziarat, as well as violence on national highways and in other districts of the province.
The party claimed that responsibility for the prevailing situation lies with what it described as unelected individuals who were imposed on the public through “Form 47.” It alleged that handing the province over to mafias and contractors had made the restoration of peace impossible.
The council also urged the Hazara community to remain vigilant in light of the current regional security situation, advising people to act with wisdom and not allow anyone to jeopardize their future.
Discussing internal party matters, the council welcomed the completion of elections for the party’s basic councils and described the announcement of the schedule for constituency council elections as a continuation of the party’s democratic traditions.
The meeting congratulated the newly elected members and office-bearers, encouraging them to work for the resolution of public issues and the promotion of democratic and political values. It also assigned responsibilities to central and district party members to address the challenges facing the public.
