Rawalpindi: Former PTI chairman Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, have filed applications for bail in the Toshakhana II case. The hearing took place at Adiala Jail, presided over by Special Judge Central Shah Rukh Arjmand, where both defendants appeared in court.
Despite the proceedings, charges have yet to be formally pressed against the accused. Their legal team, comprising lawyers including Salman Safdar, Salman Akram Raja, and Usman Gul, submitted the bail applications.
The FIA prosecution team opposed the bail applications, with prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi arguing that the delay in filing charges is deliberate, asserting that the submission of bail applications does not impede the progression of the case.
The court issued notices to the FIA and other parties regarding the bail applications and adjourned the hearing until November 5.
