“My Wife Prayed for Momina Iqbal’s Marriage”—Saqib Chadhar

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Assembly member Saquib Chadhar, who has been named in the harassment case involving actress Momina Iqbal, has rejected the allegations against him and presented his stance during a podcast.

Saquib Chadhar said his intention was never to insult Momina Iqbal. He questioned the allegation that he was trying to prevent the actress from getting married.

“My wife used to sit on the prayer mat and pray for Momina Iqbal to get married. On the other hand, it is being alleged that she was trying to stop Momina’s marriage. How could that possibly be?” he said.

The PML-N lawmaker also spoke about Momina Iqbal’s sister, Ramsha, saying that he had always treated her like his own sister and provided her with financial and moral support.

He said he had helped send Ramsha to Australia for higher education and also helped her secure employment at a friend’s company there.

Saquib Chadhar claimed that Ramsha secretly recorded his friend during a cash transaction in Australia and later filed a harassment case against him.

He further alleged that Ramsha and her associates demanded 1 million Australian dollars, and that the matter was eventually settled after 165,000 Australian dollars were paid. He claimed that Ramsha subsequently returned to Pakistan with the money.

Saquib Chadhar said he had evidence concerning the alleged cash transactions and blackmailing.

The claims made by Saquib Chadhar are allegations, and the matter remains subject to investigation and legal proceedings. Momina Iqbal and other individuals mentioned in the allegations have not been quoted in the provided report in response to these claims.
