Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Demands Probe, Action Against All Suspects and Resignation of Ishaq Dar Over Foreign Women Case

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has strongly condemned the alleged abduction, extortion, and sexual and physical abuse of foreign women in Lahore, describing the case as a serious incident that has damaged Pakistan’s international image and diplomatic reputation.

In a statement issued by its Central Media Department, PTI claimed that the case involves Raza Dar, whom the party identified as a grandson of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The party called for a transparent, impartial, and uncompromising investigation into all allegations.

Referring to the First Information Report (FIR) and the victims’ statements recorded before a court, PTI said the seriousness of the allegations requires a thorough investigation free from political influence. The party also expressed concern over reports that police allegedly pressured a judicial magistrate at his private residence, calling the reported incident an example of undue influence by powerful individuals.

PTI questioned why the individual referred to as the “boss” in the FIR has not yet been publicly identified or brought before the law, arguing that all alleged masterminds and facilitators should be investigated and prosecuted.

The party also raised concerns over the departure of the foreign women from Pakistan, asking whether they left voluntarily or whether their departure could affect the legal proceedings. PTI said the absence of the complainants during the trial could complicate efforts to secure convictions if the allegations are proven in court.

Calling the case a matter of national and international significance, PTI demanded the immediate resignation of Ishaq Dar, arguing that his resignation would help ensure an independent and credible investigation free from any perception of political influence.

The opposition party reiterated its demand for strict criminal proceedings against all individuals named in the case, as well as anyone found to have facilitated or concealed the alleged crimes, and vowed to continue pressing for what it described as full justice for the victims.

The allegations and political claims made by PTI have not been independently verified, and the investigation into the case remains ongoing.
