Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Reaffirms Support for IPP, Says He Has Been With Party Since Its Formation

Islamabad: Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas has reaffirmed his support for the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), saying he has been associated with the party since its inception.
Speaking alongside IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan at a press conference in Islamabad, Ilyas thanked the party leadership and members for organizing the event in his honor.
He said, “When Abdul Aleem Khan founded the IPP, we stood with him from the very beginning.”
Referring to political developments in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Ilyas said the practice of floor crossing had a long history in the region before being abolished through a court ruling in 2022.
He also commented on public sentiment toward the Pakistan Army in Azad Kashmir, saying residents of the region are well aware of the military’s role and that many people express deep respect for the armed forces.
The remarks were made during the press conference and reflect Ilyas’s views on his political affiliation and public opinion in the region.
