Quetta: Senior leaders of the Awami National Party (ANP), Balochistan National Party (BNP), and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held a high-level meeting in Quetta to discuss the province’s political situation, deteriorating law and order, constitutional rights, and future coordination among opposition parties.
The meeting was hosted by ANP Balochistan President Asghar Khan Achakzai at Khan House in Quetta.
The participants reviewed the overall political situation in Pakistan, with particular focus on the worsening security conditions in Balochistan, including targeted killings, kidnappings for ransom, extortion, land grabbing, armed attacks, and other challenges facing the public.
The leaders agreed that the province’s security and political challenges have reached a critical stage and stressed that all democratic forces must work together to find effective and lasting solutions.
The joint delegation included BNP Senior Vice President Sajid Tareen, PTI Balochistan President Daud Shah Kakar, BNP Central Information Secretary Agha Hassan Baloch, and Dr. Abdul Haleem Nasir. ANP leaders Malik Amanullah Kakar, Rashid Khan Nasir, Jamaluddin Rashtya, Hazrat Ali Achakzai, Ismat Dawi, and Sanaullah Kakar also attended the meeting.
During the discussions, the leaders expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, growing political uncertainty, and public hardships in Balochistan. They emphasized that serious and result-oriented measures are essential to restore peace, protect lives and property, and address the province’s political issues.
BNP and PTI leaders also formally invited Asghar Khan Achakzai to attend the All Parties Conference (APC) on Balochistan, scheduled to be held in Islamabad on July 8. The ANP leadership welcomed the invitation and expressed its intention to participate, hoping the conference would serve as a meaningful platform for addressing the province’s political, constitutional, economic, and security challenges.
The participants also agreed to maintain close political coordination, strengthen mutual trust, promote democratic traditions, and continue political dialogue. They reaffirmed that a sustainable solution to Balochistan’s problems can only be achieved through constitutional supremacy, democratic governance, meaningful political negotiations, consultation with all stakeholders, and respect for the aspirations of the people.
The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere, after which Asghar Khan Achakzai hosted the visiting delegation at a luncheon, where the leaders continued informal discussions on future political cooperation and coordination.
