Balochistan Government Establishes District Coordination Committees to Resolve Public Issues at Grassroots Level

Quetta:In a major step towards addressing public grievances at the grassroots level, the **Government of Balochistan** has announced the formation of **District Coordination Committees (DCCs)** in all 36 districts of the province. Each committee will be headed by the respective **Deputy Commissioner**, and will include **elected members of the provincial assembly**, **Senior Police Officers (SPs)**, and other relevant local officials.

According to the **Finance Department of Balochistan**, the provincial government has allocated **Rs. 1 billion per district**, making a total of **Rs. 36 billion**, which will be utilized under the supervision of these DCCs. The funds are aimed at executing urgent development schemes based on public input and needs.

The committees will organize **“Khuli Katcheris” (open forums)** to directly interact with citizens, gather their complaints, and devise **immediate, localized development schemes**. Officials say the goal is to ensure that funds are spent transparently and efficiently to solve real-life problems faced by communities.

This initiative is part of a broader governance reform plan aimed at decentralization and **enhancing service delivery at the local level**, ensuring elected representatives and district administrations work in close coordination for the welfare of the people.

The move has been welcomed by administrative circles and is seen as a potential game-changer in **bridging the gap between the government and the people** in one of Pakistan’s most underserved provinces.
