PM Shehbaz Sharif Directs Faster Implementation of Welfare Initiatives for Overseas Pakistanis

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to accelerate the implementation of ongoing welfare projects and initiatives aimed at improving services for overseas Pakistanis.

The directive came during a meeting with Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), and Afzal Bhatti, Managing Director of the foundation. The meeting focused on measures being taken by the OPF to address the concerns and challenges faced by Pakistanis living abroad.

The Prime Minister described overseas Pakistanis as one of the nation’s most valuable assets, acknowledging their significant contribution to the country’s economy through remittances and foreign exchange earnings.

He emphasized the need to further expedite welfare programs and public service initiatives designed to support Pakistanis residing overseas.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was also briefed on a proposed roadmap for introducing additional measures to improve facilities and services for the overseas Pakistani community.

The OPF chairman and managing director also commended the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s efforts in promoting global peace.

Expressing satisfaction with the foundation’s ongoing work, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed officials to prepare and present a comprehensive plan to further enhance the welfare and support services provided to overseas Pakistanis.
