PM Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Iran for Ayatollah Khamenei’s Funeral, Sources Say

Islamabad:Prime Minister **Shehbaz Sharif** is expected to visit Iran during the first week of July to attend the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, **Ayatollah Ali Khamenei**, according to official sources. The funeral processions are scheduled to begin on **July 4**, with burial planned for **July 9**. ([Al Jazeera][1])

Sources said the prime minister will participate in the funeral events in Tehran before traveling to **Türkiye** as part of his regional visit.

Meanwhile, **Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf** has written to **National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq**, inviting him to attend the condolence and funeral ceremonies for Ayatollah Khamenei.

In his letter, Ghalibaf conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, and members of the National Assembly. He also expressed hope for further strengthening the longstanding ties, mutual respect, and cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.

Iranian authorities have announced that the funeral ceremonies for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will begin in Tehran on **July 4** as part of a series of events to honor the late leader. ([Al Jazeera][1])
