Three Siblings Among 14 Children Killed in Lahore Tuition Academy Roof Collapse

LAHORE: Three siblings from the same family were among the 14 children killed after the roof of a tuition academy collapsed in Lahore’s Kahna area, leaving families devastated and several others injured.
According to relatives, the grieving family has five children, four of whom had gone to attend tuition classes at the academy. Three of the children died at the scene, while the fourth remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
The bodies of the three siblings were returned to their home, where emotional scenes unfolded as their mother reportedly fainted upon seeing them.
The tragic incident occurred while students were attending classes, when the academy’s roof suddenly collapsed, trapping children beneath the debris.
Rescue teams and police launched an emergency operation and recovered the victims from the rubble. Authorities confirmed that 14 children were killed, while five children and one female teacher sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving medical treatment.
According to DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, the contractor involved in the construction has been arrested, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the collapse.
Officials said rescue operations have been completed and assured that those found responsible will face legal action.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took immediate notice of the incident and sought a detailed report. She directed authorities to provide the best possible medical treatment to the injured, expedite relief efforts, and identify those responsible for the tragedy.
The chief minister also instructed provincial ministers to immediately visit the site of the incident to oversee rescue and relief operations.
