Agha Rafayullah Says Pakistan’s Situation Is Not So Bad That People Can’t Afford a Burial Shroud

Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Agha Rafayullah has reacted to the incident in Multan where a father allegedly attempted to bury his son without a burial shroud (kafan) due to poverty, suggesting that the act may have been intended to gain cheap publicity.
Speaking on the matter, Rafayullah said that attempting to bury someone without a shroud is completely unacceptable and could be a deliberate effort to attract public attention. He added that such actions create a misleading impression about the country’s conditions.
He further stated that even if the government or those in power fail to respond, the people of Pakistan and local communities are not indifferent. According to him, numerous charitable organizations across the country are available to provide immediate assistance in such situations.
The PPP leader emphasized that whether the incident was motivated by publicity or any other reason, it projects an inaccurate image of Pakistan. He reiterated that burying a deceased person without a shroud is entirely wrong and cannot be justified under any circumstances.
