Balochistan CM Visits Home of Slain Trader Ali Murtaza Jamil, Vows Justice and Support for Family

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti visited the residence of slain trader Ali Murtaza Jamil in Dasht to offer condolences to the bereaved family and strongly condemned the killing.
Speaking to the media during the visit, Bugti described the incident as a “heinous act” and said such treatment of guests was unacceptable. He emphasized that Ali Murtaza Jamil should be regarded as a martyr of Pakistan.
The chief minister said the provincial government had assumed responsibility for the welfare of the victim’s children. He announced that the government would cover their educational and medical expenses until they reach the age of 16.
Bugti also said that security forces had conducted an operation in the area a day earlier, during which three militants were killed. He maintained that there were no “no-go areas” in Balochistan and asserted that the state’s authority extended across the province, although security challenges remained.
He cautioned against spreading negative narratives, saying such rhetoric could strengthen terrorist elements. Referring to the ongoing investigation, Bugti said it was too early to draw conclusions, adding that the victims had reportedly been staying at a friend’s house and had lost their way before the incident. A special investigation team is probing the case.
The chief minister reiterated that protecting the lives and property of citizens was the government’s responsibility and pledged that those involved in Ali Murtaza Jamil’s killing would be brought to justice.
Separately, Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi also visited the residence of the slain trader and offered his condolences to the family.
